The Mango Diet focuses on adding big portions of mangoes and other recipes designed around the tasty fruit to replace your source of calories in a more delicious manner. Eating mangoes also keeps the calories the same while replacing plain and less delightful sources with a more refreshing source. Creative ways of adding mangoes to your own diet plans are also encouraged, either through mango based salads, colorful chutney or as a salsa or topping.
Khushboo Sahijwani, a nutritionist in Mumbai, spoke up about the generous amounts of benefits from mangoes, saying: “A single fruit is capable of providing almost a day’s supply of Vitamin C to the body. It also helps in making bones stronger since it contains minerals, calcium and magnesium as well as B vitamins. It is also rich in a carotenoid called lycopene, which is an effective antioxidant. Daily consumption of mangoes also makes the skin softer,”.

Mangoes are a fantastic source of vitamins and have been proven to aid in lowering cholesterol, blood sugar levels and even against cancer. Delnaaz T Chanduwadia, Chief Dietician at Jaslok Hospital and Research Centre, said: “Mango is a rich source of beta-carotene and fibre (pectin), which helps to lower cholesterol.
It also contains Vitamin K which aids in calcium absorption and promotes optimal bone health. It is a good source of Vitamin A, which along with Vitamin C works towards building immunity." Mangoes make for a great boost of energy to keep us on both feet during the day or providing that energy we need before our workout sessions, making them great as a replacement for snacks we eat between our meals and throughout the day.
